A new international tourism queen: have you voted Uganda’s Kyeru?
By Our Reporter
Locally, the hype is not as loud, but folks, the international tourism fraternity is looking for a queen and we are in the running. The Uganda Miss Tourism pageant organisers made a call to all and sundry. First, that the Miss Tourism Uganda is part of a bigger picture dubbed Miss Tourism International.
“It’s that time again as Miss Tourism Uganda 2019 Queen Kyeru Phiona prepares to represent Uganda at Miss Tourism International in Malaysia, she needs our support,” the Miss Tourism Uganda team said. “This year Miss Tourism International, 3 out of our 10 finalists will be based on the countries with the most number of popular votes secured for her through our official Star Phone Mobile App.”
Our very on Kyeru Phiona is in third place, behind Cambodia and Indonesia, and has been for a few days now. But this a grave improvement from the 9th slot and could be even better if we took to voting for her. They say that every first vote by any individual voting through their mobile in their respective country is free and that the delegate with the highest vote will be chosen as Miss Popularity.
Note that earlier this month, the pageant was held and Kyeru Phiona Bridget was chosen as Miss Tourism Uganda 2019, while Premah Proscy Agwang was the first runners-up and Jean Coprise was second runners-up. Many believe that if the country rallied behind her like we did Quin Abenakyo, we should get all the attention and tourism business coming our way. At View Uganda, we believe that tourism, which is the country’s biggest foreign exchange earner can be harnessed through such pageants. “Let’s keep on voting,” the Miss Tourism team implores us all.
